 TradeSoft, Inc, located in Atlanta, Georgia, was founded in 1994 with a single mission:

Provide a truly customizable estimating and job management software solution that addresses the demanding needs of the custom, quote-driven manufacturer and job shop.


The problems we saw in 1994 still exist today. Custom job shops trying to automate their estimating have few choices. They can build a spreadsheet or try to develop a database application in house, but few have the time or expertise to build a comprehensive system. They can hire a software consultant to develop a custom program, but this is extremely expensive, time consuming, and risky - since half of all software development projects fail. They can buy packaged estimating software, but most packages are oriented toward the construction industry, are expensive, or don't quite fit the way they do business.

 

ProjectPAK solves these problems. Realizing the potential of providing an easy to use Windows program that could fill the estimating needs of any custom manufacturer, we set out to work. After a year and a half of development, we sold the first copy of ProjectPAK to a 75 man commercial cabinet and millwork company in Atlanta. They still use ProjectPAK today.

 

Designing for you: We developed ProjectPAK in such a way that any custom-oriented, quote-driven shop would feel that "it was built just for them." Listening to you: Since that first sale in 1996, we've continually improved ProjectPAK by incorporating customer feedback and suggestions, making it best of breed. We are currently in the fifth release and have hundreds of customers throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, France, England, and the Republic of Ireland. Our markets: Our initial market - secondary wood products manufacturers - remains our largest group of installed users. However, we also sell to all sorts of job shops that work with metal, glass, paper, and electronics as well as machine shops and sub-contractors.

 

New products: In response to customer requests, we have added new products to work in harmony with ProjectPAK. We introduced ShopPAK, an integrated shop management and control system, to address the shop control, job tracking, and job costing needs of our customers. It is intimately integrated with ProjectPAK and delivers powerful job costing, tracking, purchasing, inventory, shop floor data collection, shipping and receiving.
